Olberon Medical Innovation is a privately-owned company based in the UK. Founder and now President Dr Arash Bakhtyari, began to draw on paper ideas to improve medical devices addressing issues such regarding discomfort that he or his NHS colleagues experienced in their daily practice.
Key Personnel
Dr. Arash Bakhtyari – Arash has experience in both NHS (as a surgeon and radiologist) and is also a certified specialist in pharmaceutical medicine, with over 6 years’ experience in the commercial sector, having worked in senior medical posts in both contract research organisations and a multinational pharmaceutical company. Arash currently has the role of President and scientific director.
Dr. John Altrip – John joined Olberon from an established career in the science and technology sector, having over 17 years experience within academia, commercial research and development organisations, multinational volume manufacturing and technology start-up companies. He is presently a doctor in an emergency department, and works part time for Olberon, fulfilling a technical scientific role, expanding Olberon's IP and product portfolio, and supporting the development of Olberon's first products into volume manufacturing.
Barbara Demetriou - ACCA Chartered Accountant, has worked in practice, industry and commerce since graduating. Barbara has expertise in financial management, business development and high growth SMEs. Grant funding expertise – raising over £3M. Utilising entrepreneurial skills and experience to transform business in terms of finance and structure. Barbara has been actively involved in the management of small businesses and also specialises in monthly management accounts, project planning and is actively involved in overseeing Olberon's R&D activities.
Christopher Demetriou - Working on a consultancy basis and joining Olberon in September 2015 to deliver R&D (primarily through End User analysis), raise finance and develop Olberon's sales strategy. Christopher has worked with various companies in the Medical/Cleantech Industries aiding with their operations and strategic development. Having knowledge of what products will work, product development, routes to market, and knowledge of Crowdfunding and preparing companies for investment. Christopher often carries out the role of project manager, working in market exploitation with developers and end users, whilst managing project finances (planning) and is good at setting operational procedures (systems) for corporate continuation.
