OG CARE - Blood glucose meters

OGCare ® is a simple and accurate system for determining the approximate concentration of glucose in the blood. It is most useful element of home blood glucose monitoring for people with diabetes mellitus or hypoglycemia.

OG CARE® blood glucose meter uses the amperometric method which means it measures blood glucose level electric current generated at a specific moment in time. OG CARE® blood glucose meter meets accuracy standards set by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

The key principle how it works:
A small drop of blood, achieved by pricking the skin with a lancet or something sharp, is placed on a disposable test strip and the meter reads and uses it to calculate the blood glucose level of a user. The meter then displays the level in units of mg/dl or mmol/l.

The user of these blood glucose meters should be aware that variety of factors can affect the accuracy of a test. These factors include calibration of a meter, ambient temperature, pressure used to wipe off strip, size and quality of blood sample, high levels of certain substances (such as ascorbic acid) in patient’s blood, hematocrit, dirt found on meter, humidity, and aging of test strips.
