The founding of Synapsys coincides with a true technological breakthrought. Prior to 1992, only ENG (electronystagmography) made it possible to analyse eye movements and diagnose balance disorders.
In 1992, Dr. Ulmer, in collaboration with CNRS, designed the first clinical VNG system (videonystagmography), thus distinctly improving the sensitivity and reliability of recordings.
In September 1993, Joël de Rosa founded Synapsys and launched the marketing of this equipment.
