Extracorporeal circulation systems
Extracorporeal circulation systems – devices, which are involved in an extracorporeal circulation, i.e. a process, maintaining a patient’s blood circulation and lung function outside the body. With the help of this system, oxygen-depleted blood is diverted out of the body and enriched with oxygen by passing it through an artificial lung (oxygenator), before being pumped back into the patient’s circulation. Used in Cardiology.
