Medical offices, examination rooms equipment
Medical offices, examination rooms equipment, devices. Medical office (also called doctor’s office) is a healthcare facility in which a medical doctor (often it’s a general practitioner) receives and treats his patients, which consists of two main parts: waiting room and examination room. It is a primary place for giving ambulatory care and also the first place where a sick patient seeks for medical help (except emergencies, when one would go directly to emergency department at a hospital). The general practitioner can treat patient himself or send him to another specialist who has better knowledge of the problem. Even healthy people should come to general practitioner’s medical office once a year for general physical examination (it involves measuring patient’s weight, height, heart rate, blood pressure, questioning is there any symptoms of weakness, sleeping problems etc.). There are various furniture and equipment in examination room: examination tables (they are used to examine patient while he is lying on his back, abdomen, or while he is sitting; may be electric, hydraulic or pneumatic), examination chairs (for example, ophthalmic, gynaecological, podiatry, ENT examination chairs), stethoscopes, blood pressure measuring equipment, scales, instrument tables, tools for sterilization, medical software. The need of different equipment depends on doctor’s speciality.
